From the initial enquiry through in-chair consultation to aftercare advice: you'll know in advance what to expect at Salon Scherenwerk and how much time we'll set aside for it.
What to expect with us
Every appointment starts with a conversation at the chair and ends with a care recommendation tailored to your hair and your everyday life.
Calm instead of clock-watching
We work by appointment only, so no one gets squeezed between two bookings. If you prefer to come later in the evening, you'll find us on Thursdays and Fridays until 8:00 pm — plenty of time for colour and cut in one sitting.

From enquiry to styling
Six steps lie between your first message and the moment you leave Deichstraße again — each one with a clear point of responsibility.

Enquiry
Call us on +49 40 66969105, write to hallo@salon-scherenwerk.invalid or use the form on the contact page. Let us know which service you'd like and two or three possible times of day, so we can find a suitable slot more quickly.

Appointment confirmation
We'll get back to you with a concrete proposal and let you know how long we're reserving for your treatment. The appointment is only set in stone once you confirm — we prefer to schedule longer colour appointments during the quiet morning hours.

Arriving at the salon
Please arrive five minutes before the agreed time at Deichstraße 5. We'll take care of your jacket and bag, offer you something to drink, and provide a gown. We don't plan for long waits in the entrance area.

Consultation at the chair
Before the first cut, we look at your hair structure, growth direction and current care routine, and discuss your goal. For colouring and balayage, we note which tone is realistically achievable and what steps are needed to get there.

Treatment
Washing, cutting, colour and styling are all handled by the same person from start to finish. We work in the order agreed during the consultation and, for colour work, show you the interim result along the way.

Aftercare and follow-up appointment
At the end, we explain how to maintain the result at home — washing routine, products, styling in just a few minutes. If you'd like, you can book your follow-up appointment right away; for cuts, this is usually a window of six to eight weeks.
Good work takes time

Deichstraße is located on a narrow lane in the old town — a few extra minutes for the journey make the appointment more relaxed.
Allow some time buffer
A cut and styling take less time than a colouring or balayage. We'll tell you how long your appointment will take in the confirmation — plan accordingly and avoid scheduling your next appointment down to the minute.
Getting to the old town
You'll find us at Deichstraße 5 in 20459 Hamburg, just a few minutes' walk from the city centre. The lane is narrow: public transport or a bike will usually get you to the salon faster than a car.
Cancellations and rescheduling
Plans change — let us know as early as possible, by phone on +49 40 66969105 or by e-mail. The earlier we hear from you, the better the chance we can offer you a new slot in the same week.
Paying on site
Payment is handled at the end of the appointment at the salon. We'll discuss the cost of a service beforehand during the consultation — if anything is added during the treatment, we'll let you know before we start.

We open earlier on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and work into the evening on Thursdays and Fridays — we prefer to schedule longer colour appointments during the quiet morning hours.

Appointments by arrangement. The salon is closed on Sundays and Mondays.
Before your appointment
How to be well prepared
The more we know about your hair and your wishes, the more relaxed your appointment will be. A few small things help us use the time at the chair for consultation and work, rather than follow-up questions.
- Come with dry, unstyled hair – this makes it easier to assess the starting length.
- Bring two or three pictures you like, and feel free to include examples you don't like as well.
- Let us know about previous colouring, henna, or drugstore hair dye – this affects the result.
- Tell us how much time you'd like to spend on styling each day.
- If you have allergies, scalp sensitivity, or are taking medication, please give us a brief heads-up beforehand.
- For bridal styling, plan your trial appointment a few weeks before the wedding day if possible.
