Hairdressing craftsmanship in Hamburg's old town

Women's haircuts with personal touch

We cut women's hair according to growth direction, hair structure and everyday life – not a template. Before every cut, we talk about how much time you really have in the morning.

Consultation

Talk first, cut second

We take time before every women's cut for a conversation on dry hair – because that's the only place where you can see what your hair does on its own.

We look at cowlicks, growth direction, hair density and the areas around the forehead and neck. We also ask how you dry your hair at home, how often you wash it, and whether you have five or twenty minutes in the morning. To us, a cut that only works in the salon is not a good cut.

  • Hair structure, cowlicks and growth direction in the dry state
  • Your styling routine and the time available for it
  • Face shape, glasses and preferred parting
  • Hair history: colouring, balayage, heat styling
  • Desired length – and how much of it your structure can carry

Cutting styles

Six cutting styles we work with often

Each of these styles can be worked soft or sharp – what matters is how much we thin the lengths and where the shortest section sits.

Bob

A clean edge length between jaw and shoulder, angling up slightly at the nape. Wears well straight or wavy and needs little styling once the inner contour is right.

Suits
Thick, straight hair
Trim
Every 6 to 8 weeks

Long bob

The longer version, reaching just below the shoulder. We remove weight from the inner lengths so the ends don't rest on the shoulder and kink.

Suits
Medium hair density
Trim
Every 8 to 10 weeks

Layered cut

Soft layers starting at chin height give long hair movement without shortening the overall length. Good for thick hair that otherwise falls heavy.

Suits
Thick, long hair
Trim
Every 10 to 12 weeks

Pixie and short hair

Short styles live from the contour at the nape and ear. We work them out with scissors and razor so the shape still holds direction weeks later.

Suits
Fine to medium hair
Trim
Every 4 to 6 weeks

Tip trim

Just the worn ends, usually one to two centimetres. Keeps the length while removing the ends that catch when combing.

Removed
1 to 2 cm
Trim
Every 3 months

Fringe and contour work

Straight, curved or layered – the fringe shapes the face more than the length does. We trim it separately in between appointments.

Trim
Every 3 to 4 weeks
Duration
About 15 minutes

A women's cut is finished when it falls back into shape by itself the next morning – not when it looks good in the salon mirror.

Your appointment in five steps

From arriving at Deichstraße to the final check-cut, a women's haircut takes around 60 to 90 minutes.

  1. 1

    Arrival and consultation

You take your seat with dry hair. We discuss your wishes, hair structure and daily routine and agree on the length together. Then we tell you the price – before any scissors touch your hair.

  2. 2

    Washing and scalp massage

At the backwash basin, we choose a shampoo suited to your scalp and lengths. The massage takes a few minutes, and a treatment is only added if your hair needs it.

  3. 3

    The cut

We work section by section on wet hair: first the base shape, then the inner lengths and contour. In between, we check how it falls while you're standing, not just seated.

  4. 4

    Drying and check-cut

After blow-drying, we see how the hair really falls. Anything that lifts or bends is corrected on dry hair – this step is a firm part of the cut.

  5. 5

    Styling and care recommendations

Finally, we style the shape the way you can recreate it at home and show you how it's done. We only recommend a product if it genuinely supports the shape.

Care at home

Keeping the shape between two appointments

Most styles lose their line not because of growth, but because of too much heat from blow-drying and too much product in the lengths.

Washing by scalp type

Shampoo belongs at the roots, care products in the lengths – not the other way round. For fine hair, a light rinse on the lower third is usually enough.

Blow-drying at a distance

About 15 centimetres of distance, medium heat and a blast of cool air at the end. This sets the shape and keeps the ends calmer than hot air.

Heat protection before straightening

Straighteners and curling irons work at well over 150 degrees. Without protection, the ends become bone-dry and the inner lengths lose their movement.

Keeping a rhythm

Short styles need a trim every four to six weeks, long lengths every ten to twelve. Keeping to the rhythm means you never lose overall length.

Colour needs gentle care

Coloured or balayaged hair reacts more sensitively to heat. Read our guide to find out how to keep colour looking fresh for longer.

Less product, better distributed

A hazelnut-sized amount spread across the palms and worked into towel-dry hair goes further than a burst applied to the finished style.
