Colour that suits you
From neat root touch-ups to a complete colour change: we determine your desired shade together on your natural hair, colour strand by strand, and show you how to keep the colour fresh at home.
For us, colour doesn't start with the bowl but with the conversation. We look at your starting colour on dry hair in daylight, listen to the shade you have in mind, and tell you honestly what's achievable in one appointment and what will need two sessions. Just as important is the question of how much care effort you want to take on at home — a bold red tone demands more attention than a shade close to your natural colour.
Colour consultation
Consultation before the first colour
Every colouring begins at the mirror, not at the colour pot. We look at your hair structure, check for existing colour residue in the lengths, and assess the grey proportion in each section of the head.
We hold colour samples directly against the hair near your face, because your skin tone determines the effect. If a desired shade isn't achievable in one appointment, we say so openly and prefer to plan two sessions with a care phase in between.
- Don't wash your hair one to two days before the appointment: the natural layer of sebum protects the scalp during colour application.
- Bring pictures you like – and ideally one showing what you definitely don't want.
- Tell us about all colour treatments from recent months, including drugstore toners, henna, or grey-coverage products.
- Let us know how much time you plan to spend on styling each day and how much effort you want to put into aftercare.
- Let us know about sensitive scalp, known allergies, pregnancy or breastfeeding, so we can choose the right product.

Techniques
Which colour technique suits you
"Colouring" is an umbrella term. Behind it are four methods that differ considerably in longevity, duration and care effort. Which one we recommend depends on the proportion of grey, your starting colour, and how often you'd like to come back.
Process at the salon
The colour appointment step by step
So you know what the time in the chair is for: here's how a colouring session runs with us in the old town – from greeting to the care recommendation for home.
- 1
Greeting and a look at your dry hair
We first look at your hair unwashed and dry, as this shows colour residue, shine and dryness most honestly. While doing so, we discuss what you liked about your last colour and what you didn't.
- 2
Mixing the formula
We only determine the shade, developer and processing time now, noting the mixture on your client card. At your next appointment, we can start with this straight away – or make a targeted correction of half a shade.
- 3
Sectioning and application
The hair is divided into four sections, after which we work parting by parting. We finish neatly along the hairline and protect the scalp with a barrier cream.
- 4
Processing time
Depending on the formula, 20 to 45 minutes. We check progress along the way at a test strand, rather than just watching the clock. A drink and reading material are on hand.
- 5
Emulsifying and rinsing out
Before rinsing, we briefly massage the colour with a little water – this loosens any residue along the hairline. This is followed by an acidic after-treatment, which lowers the pH level and closes the cuticle layer.
- 6
Cut, finish and care plan
To finish, we dry and style your hair, show you the result in daylight by the window, and recommend a colour-safe wash for home use. You can also book your next root touch-up appointment right away.
