How long does an appointment take?

A men's haircut takes about 30 to 45 minutes, a women's cut with wash and blow-dry around 60 minutes. A root color, depending on length, takes 90 to 120 minutes, while a balayage – freehand lightening of individual strands for a soft color gradient – takes three to four hours including toner and cut. We'll tell you the expected duration when booking your appointment so you can plan your day.

What determines the price?

Mainly the length, thickness and starting color of your hair, as well as the complexity of the technique. Long, thick hair needs more color and more time than chin-length hair; correcting previously colored hair takes more effort than a first application. That's why we work with price ranges and give you a specific price after the consultation in the chair, before we begin.

Do I need to wash my hair beforehand?

No. For cuts and styling, we wash your hair at the basin. Before a coloring or balayage, unwashed hair is actually an advantage: the natural layer of sebum protects the scalp. So feel free to come with the previous day's hairstyle, and skip dry shampoo or heavy styling products on the day of your appointment.

How does a color consultation work?

We first look at your hair dry and in daylight, checking texture, any existing color residue and your skin tone. Then we hold real-hair color strands up to you and discuss maintenance and regrowth. We only mix the color once you've decided on a result. The consultation is part of the appointment and doesn't cost extra.

When should I book a bridal appointment?

Ideally four to six months before the wedding. That leaves time for a trial appointment, where we test the hairstyle, its longevity and how a veil or hair accessory sits, and photograph everything. We schedule any color changes for about two weeks before the big day so the color settles in and looks more natural. On the wedding day, we can open earlier on request.

What if I need to cancel an appointment?

Please let us know by phone or e-mail up to 24 hours in advance. That way we can offer the slot to someone else and quickly find you a new appointment. For longer color appointments, we appreciate earlier notice, as half a working day is reserved for them.

Talk first, then cut

Every appointment begins at the mirror with dry hair: we look at structure, growth direction and your existing colour before the scissors come out.

The consultation before the cut

We ask how much time you have in front of the mirror in the morning, whether you blow-dry or air-dry, and how often you'd like to come back. The shape comes from your answers – not from a photo taken on someone else's hair. If a request doesn't suit your hair's structure or colour history, we say so beforehand and show you what will work instead.

Our Client Groups

Three groups, three rhythms

On Deichstraße, regular clients keep to a set rhythm, new clients arrive with a big first question, and couples come with a date on the calendar – each group needs a different kind of appointment.

Regular clients

Your shape, your colour formula and your rhythm are all on file with us. Your next appointment can be booked straight at the end of your visit, so your slot in the calendar is secured.

Cut: usually every 6 to 8 weeks
Root colour: usually every 4 to 6 weeks

New clients

For your first visit, we schedule extra time. We talk about your hair, what has worked well so far and what hasn't, and only then decide what makes sense on the day.
