I'm new to the salon – how much time should I plan for?

Accepted Answer

For your first appointment, we set aside around 15 minutes extra. During this time, we look at your hair structure, the regrowth, and your previous cut, talk about your at-home care routine and how much daily effort you'd like to invest. A women's cut then takes about 60 minutes, a men's cut about 45 minutes. Please come with your hair the way you normally wear it – freshly straightened or pinned up makes it hard to assess how it falls.

Why do colour services require a preliminary appointment?

Before every first-time colouring and before balayage, we do a brief colour consultation with a strand test. This lets us check how much your hair has already been lightened, whether there are traces of older colour or henna along the lengths, and how many lightening levels are realistically achievable in one session. This protects your hair structure and prevents the colour from turning out differently than discussed. The test takes about 20 minutes and is credited toward the subsequent colouring service.

How far in advance should I book as a bride?

For bridal styling, we recommend booking six to nine months ahead, more so during May through September. We schedule the wedding appointment and the trial appointment together. The trial ideally takes place four to six weeks before the wedding – close enough to your hair length on the big day, yet with room for a colour refresh.

What does the trial appointment for bridal couples include?

We style the complete hairstyle once, exactly as it should look on the wedding day. Please bring any hair accessories, veil or comb, as well as a photo or the top of your dress so that the neckline and hairstyle match. We photograph the result from all angles and note down the products, pinning sequence and time required. On the wedding day, we follow this protocol – saving time in the morning. Partners are best off booking their haircut two weeks before the appointment.

How often should I rebook as a regular client?

As a guideline: short haircuts hold their shape for four to six weeks, longer cuts for eight to twelve. With root colouring, regrowth becomes visible after about four to six weeks, whereas balayage grows out softly and often only needs two to three appointments a year. On request, we'll schedule your follow-up appointment directly when you check out.

What determines the price?

For cuts, it depends on the effort involved and the length; for colour, additionally on the amount of colour needed. Very long or very thick hair requires more product, which we point out beforehand. Balayage is hand-painted freehand and therefore costs more than a classic root colouring. We charge bridal styling as a package covering both the trial and the wedding day. You'll always receive the price range before work begins – we won't proceed with anything without your approval.
