When should I schedule the trial appointment?

Four to eight weeks before the wedding. By then a fresh colour treatment already sits naturally at the roots, and there's still time for a second attempt if, on reflection, the hairstyle seems too severe or too loose. We're happy to reserve the appointment itself well in advance.

Should I wash my hair on the morning of the wedding?

No. Freshly washed hair is smooth and slips out of updos. Wash it the day before, skip conditioner and rinse on the lengths, and come with dry, unstyled hair. We'll add the necessary grip ourselves with root powder and setting spray.

Will an updo last into the night?

We work with a foundation of hairpins and a twisted braid core that carries the weight, not with spray alone. This allows the hairstyle to hold up well through the ceremony, photos and dancing. For late hours, we'll give you spare pins and travel-size hairspray to take with you.

What happens in rain or humidity?

Moisture causes curls to fall out. That's why, when rain is forecast, we choose a more closed pinned style instead of loose waves and seal it with a moisture-resistant finish. At the trial appointment we discuss an alternative style we can switch to at short notice.

Can you come to the wedding location?

As a rule, we style at the salon in the old town, since that's where the light, mirrors and all products are set up. On-site appointments within the Hamburg city area can be arranged on request; travel and set-up time are charged separately.

How do I cancel if the appointment needs to be moved?

Please let us know by phone or e-mail. Up to 14 days before the appointment, we'll reschedule to a new day free of charge, provided it's available. After that, we charge a proportional fee for the reserved time slot, as it can hardly be rebooked at short notice.

The schedule

Six months, four appointments

We work our way toward your date from back to front: the wedding morning is fixed, and everything else is arranged around it — with enough breathing room for color, care and a second trial run.

From the first consultation to the wedding morning

Six to four months before: consultation

We look at your hair length and structure and your ideas, discuss dress, veil and hair accessories, and note down what's actually possible. Bring pictures — including ones you don't like. Takes about 30 minutes.
Three months before: fixing color and length

Coloring or balayage need lead time so the roots look right on the day and the lengths have time to settle. Anyone wanting a significant color change should plan for two sessions here.
Six to four weeks before: trial appointment

The actual trial hairstyle — with veil, comb or flowers, just as it should look on the day itself. We photograph the result from every angle and note the pinning sequence, products and time needed.
Ten to seven days before: final cut

Split ends, roots and fringe are refreshed, not changed. This way the hairstyle sits on the wedding day just as it did at the trial, yet still looks fresh.

We follow the documented pinning plan, add the hair accessories and secure everything for the long day. Come with dry, unwashed hair from the day before — it holds better.

We take around 90 minutes, usually on a weekday morning when the salon is quiet. We pin one style, or two if needed, and let it sit for a while — so you can see how the hairstyle looks after an hour, not just right after the last touch.

Afterward we document everything: pinning sequence, parting line, products, placement of the hair accessories and the actual time required. This record is the basis for the wedding morning.

Three routes through the wedding morning

Whether the ceremony is at eleven or four in the afternoon changes the whole morning. We schedule the appointment around your ceremony time and work backward, so travel time and photos don't get squeezed.

Early wedding

For a morning ceremony, we start correspondingly early at the salon. The hair is washed the evening before, and in the morning we go straight to pinning it up. If you have a long journey ahead, plan the buffer before the appointment, not after.

Afternoon wedding

The most relaxed option: we style the hair in the late morning, leaving time afterwards for getting dressed and the first photos. There are usually two to three hours between the styling and the ceremony, giving the hairstyle time to settle.

Together or with company

Maid of honour, mother or partner can be styled in the same time slot. This extends the morning but saves a second trip. Let us know how many people will be joining when you make your inquiry.
